Here are a few of the methods or techniques that we may use when working together to address your issues and concerns.
 

Transactional Analysis


 Transactional Analysis is a personality theory developed by Eric Berne.  It uses easy to understand concepts in everyday language.   Transactional Analysis is used to identify  negative life patterns  that repeat over and over again. These patterns are known as "script".  Once identified these patterns can be treated and resolved through the use of individual or group therapy.  If you have ever wondered why you keep doing the same things repeatedly or you end up with the same problematic relationships, this is for you!

 

 Gestalt Therapy
 
  Gestalt therapy uses a focus on the "here and now," unlike many other therapies that tend to only focus on the past. By moving through issues that block you,  you are better able to live life to the fullest.  Growth and human potential are primary aspects of Gestalt therapy. 

 

Hypnosis

 

 Hypnosis can be used to assist in dealing with habits that you want to change.  Induction into a hypnotic state can be as simple as a relaxation process with suggestion for change.  It can  be used to help you move through personal issues including but not limited to anxiety and social anxiety issues.

 

 E.M.D.R.

   (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)  

 

  EMDR is an exciting new approach that rapidly assists in resolving intense issues such as those experienced in Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome or Acute Anxiety.  EMDR sessions are available as part of on-going therapy or as separate service; call or write for details. 

 

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

 

Simply put, CBT looks at life events that trigger automatic thoughts.  We tend to assume these thoughts are valid even when they are not.  These thoughts are called Core Beliefs and they come from  our past life experiences.  These negative or automatic thoughts then trigger a negative emotional response.  Learning to identify these negative automatic thoughts and how to respond to them with more realistic answers can profoundly impact our emotional life.  This process works well for many issues including depression and anxiety.

 

Behavior Modification

 

Through the use of positive or negative reinforcement, behaviors can be shaped or modified to accomplish your desired goals.  Behavior modification can be an invaluable tool in dealing with behavioral issues in children as well as adults.      

 

   Web Cam Life Coaching 

 

     If you suffer with social anxiety issues including agoraphobia, attachment disorders or panic attacks, web cam therapy may be the answer for you. If your schedule makes it difficult to attend in-office sessions, web cam life coaching may also be the solution.

 

    If you can't get to my office either because of your physical or emotional condition(s), I can now offer you life coaching sessions on-line.

The use of web cam coaching requires that you have a webcam and an available phone.  Web cam coaching will allow you a full access to brief or on going life coaching.   This service will be offered at no extra charge to you.
